Commercial Photographer - Decoding the Clients’ Words
If you ask any commercial photographer about the kind of brief they get from their clients, the first reaction you would receive mostly is “Buddy, they make me go insane”. That’s true; many clients do provide a description of a campaign that is far from understanding what they actually mean. For example, many commercial photographers get to hear their clients saying, “I want a moody shot”, or something like – the light created by slanted rays just one hour before dusk in a pensive August afternoon!
A good commercial photographer knows that the trick is to play with lights and props to get just the light that the client wants in the photographs. For example, in the above case, a good commercial photographer would try to arrange the light in a way that gives the effect of the orange, soft light that we see in the late afternoon, when the sun is low on the horizon.
